How to get to the Snow Farm

Snow Farm is located 35km from Wanaka and 55km from Queenstown, on the tope of the Pisa mountain range.
By air
There are daily domestic flights to both Queenstown and Wanaka.
Queenstown is our more direct airport with international flights from Australia in the winter. It is well serviced with transport to and from Wanaka and the the Cardrona Valley. www.queenstownairport.co.nz
Wanaka has a smaller airport which has daily direct flights from Christchurch. There is a shuttle service to Wanaka township from the airport.
Dunedin is becoming more popular with cheaper flights coming into Dunedin (3.5hrs driving time to Wanaka), so there is always the option to either busfrom the airport or rent a car and drive through.
Some people prefer to fly to Christchurch and then travel by road to Wanaka (5hrs driving time to Wanaka) but that usually requires an overnight stay somewhere.

Cars:
If coming from Lake Wanaka, drive up the Cardrona Valley. The entrance to the Snow Farm access road is approximately 20km from Wanaka on your left hand side.
The Snow Farm access road is a well maintained mountain road. It is approximately 13km from the entrance of the access road to the skifield. It is also the same road that accesses Snow Park NZ and the Southern Hemisphere Proving Ground. It is essential to carry chains as it is a mountain road and conditions change quickly. If you are renting a car check that the chains fit before coming up the mountain.
If you are traveling from Queenstown head north across the Crown Range, following the signs to Wanaka. Snow Farm is located just after the village of Cardrona. In Winter, we advise that you check the Crown Range Road (SH89) is open after snowfall. Chains are very often required.
Other Road Conditions can be checked by calling the Automobile Association 0800 500 444 or by looking on their website www.aaroadwatch.co.nz
