Racers Briefing.

 

This is a run/walk/bike at altitude. Please respect the mountain environment.

If you have a pre exisitng medical condition please consult your Doctor before entering and notify the race officials prior to the race.

 

Some tips to help up you at Altitude.

  • Go slowly into the run so as your body gets used to the oxygen levels at 1500 m.
  • Bikers pass only on the right and call out biker coming through
  • Be prepared carry extra light wind proof clothing – light layers. You can leave them at the drink stations. 
  • The course is on the ski trails formed roads. We have roped roads leading from the course. The are culverts and drainage areas _ especially cyclists – watch out for them
  •  – Never go under a rope or through v boards.V boards are a guide – don’t go through them. Arrows give direction
  • If you are not sure where you are wait for the sweep to pick you up.
  •  Take this briefing with you if you are uncertain of the course
  • No entry signs are for the winter business –
  • Toilets – meadow hut , Bob Lee Hut and lodge
  • If at any time you feel unwell it is your responsibility to stop and tell another competitor to get help.
  • There is extra clothing at the drink stations
  • If your number is not showing or you have the wrong one it is hard for us to give you results.

Ropes

 Cones. 

Never go through V- boards, under a rope – if the rope is on the ground still do not cross it. V- Board and standards mark water drainage courses so when you see v-boards or standards on the track be wary of hidden obstacles this is a mountain running/ biking race not a race on smooth surfaces.
