To develop and promote the nordic sports of cross-country skiing, biathlon and associated Nordic skiing sports by focusing particularly on:
- Introductory programmes for children
- Youth development programmes
- Year round training for competitive youth
- Family focused programmes encouraging involvement of the whole family in cross country skiing
- Organisation of events for all categories.
- To have pupils from all primary and secondary schools in the central Otago area participating in the introductory/school skiing programme
- To create a fun and social environment for children to experience cross country skiing and reinforce the value of exercise and healthy living
- To increase the number of active cross country skiers within the development programme to more than 100 within 2010
- To introduce cross country skiing as a sport to parents and family friends in order to build a strong support base of volunteers
- To have a core senior development squad of more than 30 skiers training regularly through the summer including running, biking, multisport and rollerskiing
- To have New Zealand skiers filling podium places in 2 male and 2 female categories at the Australian Junior National Age Group championships
- To facilitate the training and competing of our top age-group skiers in Europe or America during the New Zealand summer
- To have 3 of the development squad skiers attend the World Junior Championships before 2011
- To retain at least 20% of competition squad members in the sport beyond age 18.
