Biathlon Facilities 
 
The Biathlon Range is situated very close to the Snow Farm Lodge and facilities. Six new targets have been installed on the range and next summer the targets will be sited on a concrete pad to ensure the targets are stable and effective. We offer over 50kms of groomed ski trails, a training range with paper and metal targets, laser rifle training facilities, ski hire and maintenance, and a gym with weight training facilities. We use international biathlon and cross-country skiing coaches to ensure that our training programmes meet the higheststandards expected. International and National federation training and competition events are heldhere on a regular basis, offering opportunities for athletes to receive the immediate feedback aboutthe latest coaching techniques.

Training Ground for the Northern Hemisphere Athletes

The Centre of Excellence for Biathlon in New Zealand is developing a Training Centre for NorthernHemisphere biathletes, enabling them to continue training on snow during what would be theirsummer. Currently, the Snow Farm is used as training ground for the Canadian and American crosscountry skiers and the success of this training strategy was proven in their results last season. Withon snow accommodation, international airport access, the world-renowned resorts of Wanaka andQueenstown handy, what could be more perfect? Camps 
 
A Biathlon camp to encourage juniors is being held in the second week of the school holidays andthere is talk of an IBU/IOC camp in NZ in July.

Sarah Murphy is back from Canada completing her course at the College in Queenstown. Sarahis excited about this winter with new targets to practice her skills in readiness for the next northernhemisphere winter.
